The new £3m health centre that is being developed in Torpoint by Community 1st on behalf of the NHS in Cornwall has changed its name from Torpoint Health Centre to Penntorr Health.
The decision was made following the project’s vision to make the health centre an integral part of the local community, therefore naming the centre after Torpoint’s Cornish name, Penntorr.
Penntorr Health will be based on Trevol Business Park and will house the existing Rame Group Practice surgeries currently on Anthony Road and St James Road, and the Peninsula Community Health Community Clinic and ambulance station in Hooper Street.
Work is progressing well despite the terrible winter, the roof is now being installed. Internal fit out is just commencing and the external parking areas are beginning to take shape.
