Truro Health Park Aims for Biggest Coffee Morning in Cornwall – Ever!

Community 1st Cornwall is holding a coffee morning at Truro Health Park on Friday 18 October at 10:00 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and is aiming to make it the biggest coffee morning in Cornwall to date.

Now in its 22nd year, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning encourages people to get together with friends, family and colleagues to enjoy a slice of cake and a coffee to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

In 2012 over 115,000 people signed up to the event which raised a record £15 million, enough to fund 280 Macmillan nurses.

With a Macmillan nurses’ station at Truro Health Park, the health centre knows all too well the importance of providing support to cancer patients and their friends and families. One in three of us will get cancer, we are all affected by it and we can all help.

The coffee morning is open to the entire local community in The Resource Room at Truro Health Park from 10:00 on Friday 18 October 2013 and a number of cakes and drinks will be available to buy from the team throughout the morning.

An NHS representative at Truro Health Park said: “Having a Macmillan nurses’ station at Truro Health Park means we see the fantastic work that goes into supporting cancer patients and their loved ones every day. Macmillan Cancer Support is there for people from the moment they are diagnosed, with medical, practical emotional and financial support. We are extremely proud of the work they do here at the health centre and we are pleased to be able to support them in any way possible.”
