School pupils enjoy Community 1st sponsored Run4Fun

Pupils of St Meriadoc C of E Junior School in Camborne had a fun afternoon on Friday 16th October when the free Run4Fun event took place at their school.

The free event for pupils, their families and teachers was sponsored by Community 1st Cornwall, Cornwall’s local LIFT company, and organised by national sports development charity StreetGames, with local support from LEAPActive, who work throughout Cornwall encouraging people to become more physically active in their daily lives, encourage participation in sport, and raise awareness of healthy living.

The event was a massive success, with pupils from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 taking part to run, jog or walk around the school grounds and even the weather managed to stay dry, ensuring everybody finished the course in high spirits. As the Run4Fun is all about participation rather than winning, everyone who completed the course received a medal.

Rod Hulme, Director of Community 1st Cornwall, commented: “The Run4Fun was a great afternoon of fun and exercise for the children and it was fantastic to see so many children and their families joining in and enjoying the chance to have fun and get fit at the same time. Community 1st Cornwall is proud to support such activities.”
