Another major step forward for the Truro Health Park Development as the South West Peninsula Strategic Health Authority Board has now approved the Business Case and is fully supportive of the scheme. Final contractual negotiations are also progressing well.
The long awaited Truro Health Park development, on part of the former City Hospital site, will take around two years to build with work anticipated to start on site in 2008 and operational by the end of 2010.
Mike Lincoln, Director of Finance at Cornwall & Isles of Scilly PCT, said: “This is a really exciting development and brings us one step closer towards developing a really first class new facility in the heart of Truro to meet with local health needs. I really hope people will take advantage of the opportunity to come along to the Trust’s Health Fair being held this month in Truro, to really experience how the Health Park will look and feel in 3D for the first time.”
There will be an opportunity to view the 3D fly through of the new development, as well as the plans at the event, being held as part of the PCT’s Health Fair on Wednesday 14th November from 10 am – 4 pm, at The Knowledge Spa, on the site of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Treliske, in Truro.
The 3D fly through will show you the views around the site and take you through the front doors to explore the main waiting area and into various treatment rooms to give you a feel of what the new development will be like.
The development of the new facility is being led by Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust, as a partnership project for the NHS and is being developed as part of the NHS LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) initiative in Cornwall by the county’s LIFTco, Community 1st Cornwall Limited, in which the PCT is a shareholder.
